I have an empathic nature, anthropologists curiosity and unrelenting desire to create. It’s no wonder that I found my way to a Masters in Human Centered Design from the University of Washington.
My titles are Experience Designer, Maker and perhaps the most hard earned, Brave Strong Mucky Mom.
Something you’d never guess about me I lead paddling expeditions into the wilderness for days at a time, portaging between lakes and finding my way using a topo-map—not the internet. Getting off the grid and close to nature feeds my spirit and has shaped who I am. I’m mother to two boys who are my fellow adventurers—they assigned me the name ‘Brave Strong Mucky Mom’ on one such adventure and it stuck.
Being focused and resourceful is a matter of being myself I emerged as a visual artist when at age thirteen I was hired to paint large murals on the walls of the pediatrics wing of a local medical clinic. After graduating from college I afforded six months of wandering in Europe by selling artworks I created during my travels, in advance. I am a writer and propel through ambiguity and barriers mapping everything out with a pencil. Which brings me to, I am focused and resourceful when it comes to making things happen.
Work As an Experience Designer I excel at design thinking and leading teams through complex and ambiguous problem spaces. I’m proud of my scrappy user research skills and keen ability to surface the deeper human insights my team needs to design a product that is intuitive, rewarding and that fosters trust.
Life In life, I am most proud of my efforts as a single parent raising two boys to become good men.
